Thanks to a new service by Western Union — world-famous for its pioneer role in telegraph services and money tranfer — customers of Brazilian banks can now have direct deposits made from anywhere in the US to their checking accounts in Brazil. Angels' Ball

For the 16^th year in a row, Samba e Saudade Productions is bringing to the West Coast what they call "the largest and most authentic Carnaval outside Brazil today". In previous years, the event has brought together up to 5,000 people, all eager to jump and samba the Carnaval. The organizers promise a huge display of costumes, flowing feathers, plenty of glitter, Brazilian food, beautiful women, young people and lots of Carnaval music.
