In your March edition in the "Rapidinhas" section you listed a short article on "Brazil or Haiti?" in which your author
quoted a CIA State Failure Task Force report on the imminent social collapse of Brazil. I am very much interested in getting more
information on that report if at all possible. I'm a graduate student at Georgetown University and am studying the possible indicators of
state collapse. I'd very much like to see what indicators the boys and girls at Langley are using that leads them to such a dire conclusion.

I am a Brazilian radio DJ based in Amsterdam. I have a program called `Tropofágico" where the focus is Brazil. And I am
interested in receiving News from Brazil in order to contribute to the news portion of our program. There are approximately 5,000
Brazilians in Amsterdam and it is very difficult to get Brazilian news in Europe.

Growing gains
I am very pleased to see the amazing progress
News from Brazil has made in the last couple of years. I am considering
having a Brazilian Film Festival here in Kansas City this Spring and would appreciate any input from interested parties. Keep up the
excellent work.
I'm currently writing a popular book on African-Brazilian music (cultural history and related issues, genres, instruments,
etc.). While I have contacted a publisher who has expressed an interest in the idea, my current workload for a Ph.D. program has kept me away from making tremendous headway in my book project.
My wife and I have been reading your magazine for years (starting in San Francisco, then Santa Cruz, now LA). She's been
telling me to submit something interesting from my manuscript for possible publication in
News from Brazil. I have a great deal of
material and would actually be interested in a series of articles if at all possible.

Top to toe
I've read News from Brazil for the past two years, and I find this publication to be one of the most informative in the field
of info on Brazilians and their influence throughout the Portuguese speaking diaspora. I look forward to reading each and every
issue from cover to cover!
I would very much appreciate the opportunity to review books for
News from Brazil. My areas of expertise are
History, Portuguese, and Spanish. I have a BA degree in History with certification in Latin American Studies from the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and I am a tutor of Portuguese and Spanish for the University.

A load on soap
I'm a graduate student in Latin American Studies and am currently working on a paper about Brazil's pop culture,
specifically in regards to telenovelas. I am desperately seeking any kind of information I can, and would love to receive your magazine and
any other information you could help me out with.
I read your December 1995 cover story on computer usage in Brazil. I recently took a college class on importing/exporting.
During the class the instructor mentioned that there was an opportunity to export USED computers from the USA to Brazil. I have the
ability to acquire notebook and desktop computers. Do you know anyone I might be able to contact regarding this?

Send them in
I would like once again to congratulate News from
Brazil. I have greatly enjoyed the room you have made for our
Brazilian literature in the magazine. I would like to know whether you would be willing to consider the publication of short stories by
young writers like myself. I've been in the US for almost 5 years now as a graduate student, and would like to start publishing my
literary work. Can I send you a sample of some of my stories?

Cultural link
What a great publication! I am so happy to receive my copy every month and feel up-to-date on what's happening in Brazil.
I read in your December 1995 issue about BIENAM, a conference about the African Diaspora and indigenous cultures, to be
held in Salvador. Your article said that the organizers were in the US trying to drum up interest. I am hoping to be able to speak with
these groups before the conference. Would the author of the article be able to give me the names of the organizations that were
contacted? Thank you very much in advance and as always I look forward to upcoming editions.
Vai aí a bagatela de $3 por um ano de assinatura. É um presente para um grande amigo meu, o melhor advogado de
Honolulu (não é puxasaquismo) e talvez o maior fã do Brasil at paradise. O trabalho de vocês é muito bom e recomendável. Vocês
deveriam enviar a revista para as universidades pois já emprestei várias edições a amigos meus para eles fazerem pesquisa. No mais, pau
no rego da rapaziada. Aloha e Mahalo.
